Dieb’s Wandschrank starts with drum-machine improvisations on a tech house track. Leonid’s When vithco is played continues with tribal-influenced melodies. This leads to the strange section; first Choeny’s Subbasal which is an exercise in strange delay minimalism, and from this to q’s bobo which even Frank Zappa would be proud of.

Craig Mcwhinney’s Gold Rush is a solid techno house tune with a very ambient sound. Then Heiko Mor with Toploader continues with an minimalist melody track. This then leads to Mandy Jordan’s Man at Gobi, a techno/minimalist track with a very describing name of the sound.

Denoize’s Take Time is like a political electro manifesto. Skitish and the track Perplexity then continues with the steady upbuild of the energy, leading to Juno6 and Salamis, a very intriguing use of a simple wave pulse with all kinds of variations. This is then continued with Moshimoshi’s track Taxi bus, where various patterns are cross-related.

Next is Nick Zero and Schlummertrunk with a sound that resembles film track music from the future. James Hammer and Gain An Hour then adds more energy to the overall build-up, which is then ended with a section of more chilled music, starting with Sumergido’s Embalse, William Field’s The Ruby-Leif and finally closing with Modul and Complete, where from a big set of excellent remixes I picked up the Madstyle remix.

Entering the universe of new minimalist productions, indie electronics, techno and tech house with drive, and rounding up, or actually chilling down, with slower interesting tracks.

We start with going through new minimalist material, showcasing how this genre could give rise to many different interpretations. As an interlude we examine two indie electro tracks. After this we enter the world of techno where glittering cities at night and customized Hondas with sub-woofers rule, ending up with a transformation to tech house and showing how techno and tech house today are very much integrated into each other. Finally we will end with more chilled music, showing how talented artists could create soundscapes with all the modern tools available today.

This is a special edition celebrating the producer talent creating mystical and shamanic material using electronic tools, whether is is voice slicing, dub-centric pad drones, circuit bending or any other tools available for the modern producer.
Click here to get info how to subscribe to the podcast series, and there’s more general information available at that page.

Feedback is always welcome – place blog comments below, or email me. Also, you could also refer to me pointers to netlabels, or you producers, send me emails with interesting music. And spread the word.

Jock Dynamite’s Mellow Tubs and Fakin Hipi’s Grafitti in Rovaniemi shows the possibilities with taking human voices and elastically change it to something very electronic, still human. Audioglider’s Crystalline continues with sporadic voice use, as well as provides a laid-back background with somewhat jam-session centric productions.

Motionfield’s The Document is taking us to another parallel level of existence with wobbly sounds use to achieve this. Denoize with My Sk-1 Circuit Bend again shows how even hardware hacking with circuits could generate a a pulsating, modern shamanistic experience.

John Cicada is attacking the world of game music by using the style to generate whole thematic albums. Audiokontrukte with Sensitive Poem shows how using a trip-hop beat could be used to describe poetic visions. Gastón Arévalo with Gourmet has a bossanova flavor with experimental offsprings here and there.

Paul Kaiser with The Taxi of Buenos Aires feels like one takes a late night taxi trip in a foreign city, still sleeping. Mystic Beauty with Madstyle is it targeting the inner beauty of the huge ecological system where we humans are just one of a billion entities. This same theme is explored by I-Rob and Birds Watching, a fine production resembling Community Border releases. Finally the episode closes with off the sky and gyges and the track Polaroidmanteaux, showcasing again how plug-in effects and digital editing with voices and sparse arrangement could indeed create a mystical and exploring soundscape.
